You arrive on the island with a worn-out city life behind you and a whole island ahead. These first-days tips are built from the official 1.0 description and launch announcements — nothing here depends on unverified numbers.

What you do on the island

The official 1.0 description names four pillars: live with nature (farm tropical fruits and vegetables, keep adorable animals, build a countryside villa), freedom to roam (longboard, retro scooter, sailing, the coastal highway), bonds with islanders (daily interactions, special quests, and a deepening romance system), and uncovering mysteries (foggy depths, mineral veins, ancient ruins, combat skills and strange creatures).

Day-one priorities

  1. Set up your homestead on easy ground: the terrain is yours to shape, and terrace gardens come later.
  2. Talk to every islander you meet each day. Daily interactions feed the relationship system — see the Romance page.
  3. Pick up a fishing rod early. Fish are affected by season, weather, time and water type, which makes fishing a deep one-stop activity.
  4. Unlock a vehicle when you can: the longboard is the cheapest way to move, and the coastal highway makes every trip scenic.
  5. Visit the Moonlit Forest with enough energy, but do not rush the foggy depths — combat and ruins are a later-game loop.

First-week checklist

  • Grow a small crop patch; harvesting a few crops beats planting everything at once.
  • Start gifting what islanders visibly like — reported preferences are on the Gifts page.
  • Check the in-game build mode for blueprints; the developers fixed blueprint saving before launch.
  • Enable multiplayer in your settings even when playing solo — Update 1.08.3916 made multiplayer points earnable that way.
  • Keep an eye on official announcements before any festival or event so you do not miss timed content.

Character creation

Players frequently ask about character creation and customization. As of launch week the official page confirms the game supports controllers, Steam Cloud saves and family sharing, but we have not yet verified the full set of 1.0 customization options. That section is marked unverified until we do.

Disputed claim: some launch-week guides quote specific day-one crop profits. We do not publish economy numbers until we can repeat them in 1.0 — treat those guides as unverified.

Common first questions

How do I make money fast? Fishing and crop harvests are the most commonly reported early earners, but 1.0 economy numbers are still being verified — see the Money Making page for what we can confirm.
